Want to join others who are also interested in reducing the number of injuries and fatalities on our roadways each year? Join or visit AAA's "Make Our Roads Safe for Everyone" cause page on Facebook. If you join the cause and recruit 10 members or more who believe traffic safety is a problem we can solve together, we'll send you a free driver-ZED DVD, a computer-based DVD software program that helps teens recognize and avoid driving hazards. This is a $20 value!

Car crashes are the leading cause of teen death in America. Be a part of the change! Do something in your community to make a difference.

AAA Arizona's Driven to Action Teen Service Learning Program -- Building Awareness and Taking Action

The dangers you face on our nation's roadways are frighteningly real: one fatality occurs on the road every 13 minutes; one injury occurs due to a traffic altercation every 10 seconds; and one serious crash happens every seven seconds. Every time you or one of your friends gets behind the wheel, there is a very real possibility that that ‘one' could be one of you.

Together, you can help your friends avoid the dangers these numbers represent. AAA Arizona's Driven to Action program is a peer-driven educational initiative aimed at getting teens to take action to make their community safer.

How the program works:

Students, staff and a traffic safety specialist from AAA will create a teen driver safety council at your school. Together, we will identify teen driver safety concerns and set to work creating innovative, compelling and effective programs to address those needs.

How will AAA Help?

AAA will provide the teen driver safety council with an expert traffic safety specialist to assist them with research and implementation. AAA may also be able to assist with media relations, marketing, web design, legislative or municipal government communication and other areas that may arise as part of this campaign. AAA has more than 80 years experience making our roads safer for everyone.

What is the benefit for my school?

The obvious benefit is a safer campus and community. However, there are other benefits as well. The safety council can do pre- and post-campaign data collection to provide your school with teen driver safety data. This can be useful in public relations campaigns. AAA can assist in getting media coverage whenever possible. Also, as a pilot school, you have the chance to lead an innovative new program and serve as a leader in the traffic safety community. These benefits come with little cost to the school.

What is the benefit for the student?

The goal of all service learning projects is for students to learn something new and apply what they have learned to make a positive impact on their community. In the process, you develop a sense of leadership, pride in the community and other valuable and marketable skills.

Teen Advisory Board

What: AAA traffic safety educators want input from the teen community on the development and implementation of teen driver safety programs that really matter to teens.

What's the benefit of joining? Car crashes are the number one killer of teens in the country: Be a part of the change! This is a chance to have your voice heard by the largest automobile organization in the country. Take part in helping AAA develop curriculum, media campaigns, teen safety events, and other programs. Also, you can learn how to start a traffic safety program at your school.
